Welcome to Carpe Diem Excursions formerly called Haines Family Fishing and Skagway Salmon Fishing before that. We’ve changed our name and upgraded our vessels but we’re still a family business with a focus on getting the most out of each moment. Giving you the service we would expect in your place. It’s important and we recognize that your time and money are precious. We help families make cherished memories in Alaska’s pristine waterways.
Our passion for boating and marine wildlife led us to Alaska in 2006 to work as crew on the Glacier Bay tour boat. We were stunned by the grandeur and scale of the magnificent mountains rising from the sea. We fell in love with the beautiful people and the grandeur of Southeast Alaska. Years later we were called back by our connection with the community and the next-level natural beauty.
We started Skagway Salmon Fishing in 2014 where we operated for 3 years. We moved to Haines in 2017 and changed our name to Haines Family Fishing. We have been running fishing charters and tours in both towns since then. The last couple of years have taught us a lot, hence our new boat and motto “Carpe Diem.”
When we started in 2014 our experience in boat tours drove us to create a program that was more like a family outing than a turn ’em and burn ’em tour.
